It would help to know what the devs' intention was. On the other hand, if they didn't count toward your total, and then the AI released them, you could instantly be over-burdened with heroes. Or the mechanism is there but too obscure for us to find. I'm inclined to believe this was an oversight and devs forgot to implement something for it or its bugged. Your people should hate it, it should be a morale hit, but you should be allowed to make those 'difficult decisions'. Between stuff like this and the healing changes there is definitely a consistent theme in AoW4 about the price of attrition and being able to grind down another faction through more ways than just constant combat.īut I agree, there should be some option to abandon your hero.
